Job Description
Summary Canterbury School, a college preparatory, coeducational boarding and day high school located in New Milford, CT, seeks an enthusiastic Utility Worker to join its' Dining Services team. The Utility Worker will be an integral part of the Dining Services team, working primarily in the main dining hall kitchen. This role will interact with students, as well as faculty and staff, and requires a positive attitude and excellent cleaning and organizational skills. Responsibilities
- Assist with the housekeeping of the kitchen and dining areas
- Mops floors in the kitchen, dish room, refrigerators, storage and dining room areas
- Practice proper cleaning procedures for safety and sanitation
- Removes trash and places it in designated container
- Assists with occasional banquet and front of the house set-ups
- Ensure that all work areas are maintained in a neat, clean and sanitary fashion by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, washing or other appropriate methods
- Assist in the proper sanitation of work areas, kitchen equipment, and all kitchen surfaces including (but not limited to) walk-in and reach- in refrigerators, floors and shelving
- Performs other duties as needed
- On the job training is available Position Requirements
- Serve safe a plus, training and certification available
- Regular and consistent attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends and some holidays
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, pull, stoop, walk and move frequently during working hours
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
