The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to established recipes and quality standards. This role involves working efficiently and accurately to ensure that dishes are prepared in a timely manner while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering great food.Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking:
Prepare and cook menu items following standardized recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines. Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and properly stored. Work efficiently on the line during service to prepare orders quickly and accurately. Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and follows the café/diner's quality standards.Station Management:
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, ovens, and other tools. Keep your workstation clean, organized, and sanitized throughout the shift. Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure safety and prevent contamination. Assist in breaking down and cleaning stations at the end of the shift, including washing and storing kitchen equipment.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and effective communication. Assist fellow team members with food preparation, cooking, and plating during busy periods. Communicate any issues or delays to the head chef or kitchen manager promptly to ensure guest satisfaction. Be receptive to feedback and willing to learn new cooking techniques or recipes as needed.Quality Control:
Ensure that all dishes meet the café/diner's quality standards before they are served. Monitor food portions and presentation to maintain consistency. Taste dishes regularly to ensure the flavor and quality meet expectations.Health and Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food storage, sanitation, and hygiene practices. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow kitchen safety protocols. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the kitchen manager.Job Types:
