Job Description

Pure Juice Cafe is seeking an experienced, dependable Kitchen Food Prep Lead to take ownership of our plant-based, grab-and-go food program. This is a unique alternative to a traditional restaurant kitchen. There is no table service, no ticket-driven line, and no animal protein preparation. Our kitchen centers around fresh vegetables, grains, salads, plant-based entrées, house-made dressings and sauces, and healthy desserts. The position offers a high level of independence and flexibility. Once familiar with our recipes and systems, you'll be trusted to organize production, manage priorities and keep the kitchen prepared and running smoothly.
What You'll Do:
Prepare salads, grain bowls, plant-based entrées and seasonal menu items Produce house-made dressings, sauces, spreads and plant-based desserts Prep, cook, portion, assemble and package ingredients and finished products Follow established recipes while maintaining consistency, quality and presentation Manage daily prep and production based on inventory and café needs Maintain an organized, clean and food-safe kitchen while minimizing waste Communicate inventory, ordering and production needs to management Help maintain an efficient kitchen workflow and high standards across our food program
Creativity Is Welcome:
While we have established recipes and systems, we're not looking for someone who simply follows a prep list. For the right person, there is an opportunity to bring your own experience, creativity and perspective to the kitchen. We welcome new ideas, seasonal specials, recipe improvements and suggestions for making our food program even better. We're a collaborative environment and are excited to work with someone who takes pride in what they create and wants to contribute.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen or food-prep experience Strong food-prep and knife skills Organized, dependable and self-directed Able to manage production efficiently and work independently Strong attention to quality, cleanliness and presentation Ability to follow established recipes consistently while contributing thoughtful ideas Food Handler/Food Service Certification Plant-based, vegan or health-focused culinary experience is a plus We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their kitchen, someone who notices what needs to be done, stays ahead of production and takes pride in creating fresh, beautiful food. If you're a culinary professional who enjoys working with fresh ingredients and wants independence, creativity and collaboration without the pressure of traditional restaurant service, we'd love to meet you.
