Substitute Kitchen Service Worker Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation East Saint Louis, IL Job Details Part-time From $16 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid training Paid time off Qualifications School nutrition programs Mandated Reporter Training (MRT) Food Safety Certification High school diploma or GED Ability to follow instructions Food preparation Full Job Description The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation is seeking a dependable and flexible Substitute Kitchen Service Worker to provide coverage as needed in our food service operations. This position works in a fast-paced kitchen environment and may be scheduled to fill in for regular kitchen staff or provide additional support based on operational needs. This is an as-needed position with no guaranteed number of hours per week. Available shifts may vary in length and may occur anytime between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. What You'll Do Assist with preparing, portioning, and serving meals and snacks Set up and maintain food service and serving areas Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and meal service procedures Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work areas, utensils, and dining areas Assist with receiving, storing, labeling, and rotating food and supplies Follow food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and program requirements Perform other kitchen duties based on the needs of the assigned shift What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required Previous food service experience required Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team Flexibility to work varying assignments and shifts Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the shift Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds Willingness to complete required food safety, CACFP, and mandated reporter training/certifications Important Scheduling Information This position does not have a regular or guaranteed schedule. Substitute Kitchen Service Workers are contacted when coverage or additional kitchen support is needed. Once an assignment is accepted, regular attendance and punctuality for the scheduled shift are expected. Pay:
From $16.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
