Job Description

Springfield School District 186 is looking for Kitchen Helper Substitutes for the Food Service Department for the 2026-2027 School Year.
Description:
Substitute Kitchen Helpers work on-call/as needed basis. Must be available from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm - number of hours will vary. Can be assigned as early as 6:00 am. Duties include assisting in food preparation, serving meals to students, and cleaning as required. Must be able to meet physical demands of job - standing and walking for prolonged periods of time, bending over, reaching, lifting, etc. Can be assigned to work at any of the 32
District Schools:
Must have a phone number where he/she can be reached and must have reliable transportation . No emails or texts will be sent for placement. Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification or obtain one within the first 30-days of employment.
