May perform such duties as preparing salad items, hot and or cold foods and/or assist in the preparation of bakery items. Assist in cleaning work areas, equipment, and dishes. May perform cashiering duties while following the School Nutrition Guidelines. Qualifications High School Diploma (or GED) preferred Ability to understand and carry out basic kitchen instructions Must be able to lift 30 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally Skill in cooking and preparing a variety of foods Works efficiently in a fast paced environment Responsibilities/Job Duties Follows procedures in setting up hot and cold food lines. Prepares or assists in the preparation of hot or cold foods. Serves food to high school age children As needed, replenishes foods, condiments, beverages, paper products, and serving trays. Clean and maintain work areas. Washes pots, pans, and other service ware ensuring sanitary handling. May perform cashiering duties following the regulations set forth by the National School Lunch Program Table washing Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements May require handling of objects up to 50 lbs. More often up to 30 lbs. Must be able to be on your feet for your scheduled shift. Work involves using sanitizer products and equipment cleaning chemicals.
