This is a hands-on kitchen position for someone who enjoys cooking, staying busy, and helping keep a kitchen running smoothly. Our kitchen prepares a variety of foods including deli items, pizza, fried foods, sandwiches, and other made-to-order and prepared foods. We are a locally owned country store serving the Alfred community, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in good food, consistency, cleanliness, and working well with others. - working the kitchen and helping lead the shift

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food consistently and according to our standards
- Help oversee the day-to-day operation of the kitchen during scheduled shifts
- Coordinate kitchen tasks and keep service running efficiently
- Maintain food quality, portioning, and presentation
- Help train and support other kitchen employees
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Monitor kitchen supplies and communicate inventory needs
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for service
- Work with management on menu items, recipes, and kitchen procedures
- Help create a positive, dependable work environment for the kitchen team
What We're Looking For:
- At least 1 year of commercial cooking or culinary experience
- Dependable and able to arrive on time for early morning shifts
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Able to handle several tasks at once while staying organized
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen sanitation
- Attention to food quality and consistency
- Ability to take responsibility and help direct other kitchen employees when needed
- Previous kitchen leadership or supervisory experience is preferred
- Availability to work
- at least one weekend shift
- We're especially interested in someone who is dependable, takes initiative, and doesn't need to be constantly told what needs to be done.
