Open Position:
Residential Kitchen Assistant (Full-time) About DBTIMI The DBT Institute of Michigan has three outpatient facilities (Mason, Metro Detroit and Wyoming) and one residential mental health clinic (Mason) striving to teach its clients how to build a life worth living through effective use of evidence-based therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Position Description:
The Kitchen Assistant is to aid the Kitchen Manager (KM) to ensure that residents are served healthy and nutritious meals three times a day. Also, to assist in keeping the kitchen and dining room clean along with adhere to and maintain health law standards. Ability to work in a fast paced, growing clinic as a team player. Interact with residents in a calm and respectful manner. General schedule is Monday - Friday, 11:00am-7:30pm, flexible scheduling can be discussed with the KM. Weekends and holidays are required. Hours/days may be adjusted with approval from KM and Chief Clinical Officer to help cover meals as needed incase of illness or PTO from the KM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lunch preparation with KM, set out by weekdays by noon
  • Dinner prepared, set out weekdays by 6:00pm
  • Assist with maintaining kitchen cleanliness at all times on shift
  • Wash lunch and dinner dishes after mealtime is completed
  • Assist KM with inventory of food items
  • Assist KM with grocery shopping, as needed
  • Assist KM with making sure there are sufficient food and supplies for weekends
  • Assist KM with labeling food with dates as necessary
  • Assist KM in making sure there are alternatives for special dietary needs
  • Maintain active ServeSafe certification
  • Maintain LARA and CARF requirements by assigned due dates Education/Experience and Other Requirements
  • High school degree or higher
