At Wayzata Public Schools, our dedicated Nutrition team is on a mission: to plan, prepare, and serve wholesome, scratch-made meals that fuel student success, nourishing their minds, bodies, and sense of belonging. We don't cut corners; we clean, chop, season, and cook meals the way they're meant to be made: from scratch and with care. We're looking for a Nutrition Assistant who takes pride in the process and finds joy in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. Whether you're prepping fresh produce or connecting with students in the lunch line, your work helps create a school day filled with energy, comfort, and community.
Your Role Will Include:
Preparing, portioning, and serving food items according to standardized recipes and daily schedules. Assisting with setup, cleanup, and sanitation of food service areas, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Use the point-of-sale (POS) system to check out students efficiently and accurately. Collaborating with team members and supervisors to maintain a positive, productive work environment and deliver high-quality service. Supporting food service for special school or community events as needed. Attending required training and following district and department policies and procedures. Communicating effectively with supervisors and reporting any operational or safety concerns promptly. Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience in an institutional kitchen setting. Experience with quantity food production. Basic math and computational skills. Ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions. Competency with institutional food service equipment. All new food service employees must pass a district-arranged pre-placement physical examination. Successful completion of background check.
Salary and Benefits:
Starting at $24.18/hour. This position is not health or dental benefit eligible.

Oakwood Elementary, 5 hours/day (8:00am
  • 1:00pm). Plymouth Creek Elementary, 3.25 hours/day (9:45am
  • 1:00pm). Sunset Hill Elementary, 4 hours/day (9:30am
  • 1:30pm). Central Middle School, 4.25 hours/day (10:00am
  • 2:15pm). East Middle School, 4.75 hours/day (9:15am
  • 2:00pm). East Middle School, 3 hours/day (11:00am
  • 2:00pm).
