Job Description

Essential Functions Deliver meals to rooms at designated times in a polite and friendly manner. Clean and set up dining tables and food trays. Uphold our high standards for food safety and sanitation. Listen and make note of residents' food and drink requests and needs. Assist in the kitchen as needed, including cooking, stocking ingredients, dishwashing and maintaining equipment. Work in the cafe, serving customers and preparing food items and required. Stock inventory at nurses' stations as needed to ensure supplies are available. Handle cash transactions accurately and securely when working in the cafe. Inspect food, food preparation and storage areas. Communicate with medical staff to ensure nutritional goals are being met for each patient. Remove and dispose of food items that are past their expiration dates Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all hygiene protocols Other duties as prescribed by Manager/Lead Excellent communication skills and the ability to empathize with patient needs Must be able to walk/stand 80% of the shift At least a high school diploma or equivalent Certification in food services preferred (or a food handler's certification) Must be able to push, pull, and/or carry up to 90 pounds Team-oriented with a willingness to learn new skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Skilled in operating cooking appliances and preparing meals according to instruc This is a part-time, .8 FTE position (64 hours per two weeks). Hours are 10:00am to 6:30pm and include every-other weekend and every-other holiday. Will need flexibility to fill in where needed.
