Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Prep / Helper to join our dynamic culinary team! In this vital role, you will assist with food preparation, ensure cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and support the overall food service operations. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help us deliver delicious, high-quality meals while maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment. Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, and portioning fresh produce and other food items using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Assist with cooking and assembling meals according to established recipes and menu plans Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, fryers, and food processors Maintain cleanliness by regularly sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen tools in compliance with food safety standards Support food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients to prevent spoilage Follow safety standards during all stages of food production to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment Collaborate with kitchen staff on meal prep tasks, ensuring timely completion of orders and adherence to recipe specifications Assist with catering setups or special event preparations as needed Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and maintain smooth kitchen operations Experience Hands-on food preparation or cooking experience in a restaurant or food service setting is beneficial Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments is essential Good attention to cleanliness and organization Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, or fryers is desirable Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members Previous restaurant, kitchen or food preparation experience is helpful but not required. Able to lift and move restaurant supplies as needed.
