Company Overview Peters Valley School of Craft is a renowned non-profit craft center dedicated to enriching lives through the learning, appreciation, and practice of fine craft. Located in a scenic area of northwestern, we offer summer workshops across diverse studios, including ceramics, woodworking, jewelry, and more, providing artists with opportunities such as fellowships, assistantships, and scholarships. Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Dishwasher/Food Prep team member to temporarily support our culinary operations now through August 29, 2027. This vital role ensures the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen while assisting in food preparation to uphold our high standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety protocols Support meal service by organizing ingredients and ensuring timely readiness for cooking or plating Efficiently wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards Maintain cleanliness of workstations, counters, floors, and storage areas through regular cleaning routines Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools Follow all food safety guidelines related to handling, storage, and sanitation to prevent contamination or spoilage Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal prep and ensure smooth kitchen operations Skills Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation techniques Strong cleaning skills with an understanding of sanitation standards in food service environments Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Familiarity with food handling procedures and food safety management practices Previous restaurant or food industry experience is advantageous Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence is preferred Catering experience or background in the food service industry enhances suitability for this role Join our team to help deliver exceptional culinary experiences that complement our artistic community!
