Job Summary An ideal job for a student - We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Kitchen Steward to join our culinary team. The Kitchen Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. This is an entry level position at a small bakery. Although it is posted as seasonal, there is a chance for it to become permanent Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking equipment efficiently. Bus tables. Perform a weekly deep cleaning during off hours (flexible). Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff. Organize and store food items according to safety standards. Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling practices are followed. Follow all food handling guidelines to maintain quality and safety standards. Requirements Must take NM food handlers class. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, food handling practices and sanitation standards. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Willingness to learn new skills related to cooking, catering, and hospitality. Physical stamina to stand for long periods. A generally clean appearance. Good hygiene. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. A passion for the culinary arts with an eagerness to contribute to a positive dining experience. Must have availability during weekends and one evening during week.
