Workshop Utility Assistant The Workshop Utility Associate is a full-time, in-person position that supports the day-to-day cleanliness, organization, and quality needs of the
ZWILLING
Commercial sharpening workshop. Key responsibilities include maintaining the workshop, operating the Commercial dishwasher, assisting with outgoing orders and final quality control, supporting the Knife Aid mailroom as needed, and completing special projects assigned by the Operations Supervisor. This role works closely with the Lead Sharpener to learn quality standards and help ensure all outgoing Commercial orders are clean, complete, and ready for delivery. Key Responsibilities Workshop Cleaning and Organization Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the sharpening workshop throughout the day, including regularly sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors to help ensure a clean and safe work environment. Clean and wipe down sharpening stations, worktables, shelving, and other commonly used work surfaces. Remove debris and waste from work areas and empty trash as needed. Assist with routine cleaning of equipment and surrounding work areas in accordance with established procedures. Monitor cleaning supplies and communicate any restocking or maintenance needs to the appropriate team member. Commercial Dishwasher and Knife Cleaning Operate the Commercial dishwasher to clean knives as part of the sharpening process. Properly load, unload, and organize knives before and after washing, ensuring the correct order remains with the corresponding customer. Inspect cleaned knives for remaining debris, residue, or other concerns and re-clean when necessary. Maintain the dishwasher and surrounding area in a clean and orderly condition and report any equipment concerns. Quality Control and Order Support Serve as a final quality control checkpoint for outgoing Commercial orders prior to delivery. Review completed orders to ensure knives are clean, properly organized in the outgoing boxes, and ready to be delivered to the customer. Verify returning Commercial boxes to ensure all items are accounted for and match the customer's order. Work closely with the Lead Sharpener to learn

Commercial quality standards and develop an understanding of common sharpening and quality concerns. Daily Operations Support Assisting in the Knife Aid mailroom as needed, including unpacking boxes and cleaning knives. Must be able to regularly lift 25lbs and occasionally lift to 50lbs. Assist with basic loading, unloading, moving, and organizing of boxes, supplies, and operational materials. Assist with special projects and operational needs assigned by the Operations Supervisor. Maintain a flexible approach to daily responsibilities and assist in other areas of the workshop when additional support is needed.
Compensation:
$17.00 per hour. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent level of education. Must be able to regularly lift 25lbs and occasionally lift to 50lbs.
