Job Summary:

Nutrition Services Assistant 2 18.68/hour Qualified candidates for this position will have relevant education and experience necessary to perform the essential functions and meet the minimum performance expectations for this position with or without an accommodation. ' Knowledge of kitchen safety measures observed in kitchen operations; considerable knowledge of use of kitchen equipment; reasonable knowledge of inventory. ' Strong interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective, professional and collaborative working relationships. ' Demonstrated ability and competency to work with a diverse population. ' Communicate effectively in oral and written formats. ' Maintain confidentiality. ' Strong organizational and multitasking skills. ' Work independently and as part of a team. ' Computer skills, including email and Microsoft Word and Excel. ' Meet deadlines. ' Lift a minimum of 40 pounds. ' Obtain and maintain certifications including Food Handler's card. ' Travel occasionally as needed. Required Licenses & Certifications ' Must enroll in and maintain enrollment in the Oregon Department of Education, Early Learning Division, Criminal Background Registry. ' Must provide valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire and driving record free of restrictions. ' Must pass TB test within 60 days of hire. ' Must obtain a Health Appraisal within 60 days of hire. ' Must obtain Food Handler's card within 30 days of hire. Minimum Education & Experience ' High school diploma or GED. ' Previous experience in large& #8209;scale food production operation and dishwashing preferred. ' An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting to changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional projects/tasks to be completed when time permits. These duties are a representative example of position expectations. Actual duties assigned may vary and change depending on the business needs of the department and the agency. ' Act as main cook for lunches, ensure food is separated by age classroom and prepare for meal delivery, ensuring food is kept at appropriate hot or cold temperatures. ' Assemble snacks and breakfasts, tray and portion food as needed. ' Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures; engage and prepare operations guidance. Assemble dishes, utensils and supplies needed for meals. ' Accept meals and incoming orders from food and supply vendors. Put food away in appropriate storage areas, checking expiration dates and rotating dry goods. ' Assist as needed in other kitchen food service duties, such as washing and sanitizing dishes and ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen.
