Job Description

Job Overview The Kitchen Aide/ Assistant supports the kitchen team with food preparation, meal service, dishwashing, cleaning, organization, and general kitchen operations. This position works closely with cooks and kitchen leadership to ensure meals are prepared and served safely, efficiently, and on time. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position would work 2-3 days during the week and weekends. Essential Responsibilities Assist cooks with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and assembling food. Set up and break down food service areas for meals and events. Help prepare dining areas, serving stations, and kitchen equipment. Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, storage, and food-service areas. Sweep, mop, sanitize surfaces, and complete other routine cleaning duties. Receive, organize, and properly store food and kitchen supplies. Assist with inventory and restocking as needed. Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards. Follow recipes, instructions, and portioning guidelines when assisting with food preparation. Assist with special dietary and allergy-related food preparation as directed by kitchen leadership. Help with meal service, including refilling food, monitoring serving areas, and maintaining cleanliness. Properly handle and dispose of food waste and garbage. Operate kitchen equipment safely after appropriate training. Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous kitchen, food service, restaurant, camp, or hospitality experience preferred but not required . Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Reliable, punctual, and willing to take direction. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain organized. Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen tasks. Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to approximately 40-50 pounds. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events as needed . Food Handler/SafeServe certification preferred or willingness to obtain . Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 - 10.0 per week
