Job Description
Overview Red Apron Meal Prep Kitchen is looking for a dependable, hardworking Kitchen Team Member to join our production team. We are a fast-paced meal prep kitchen that prepares a large variety of fresh, fully cooked, individually portioned meals for our grab-and-go coolers each week. This is not a traditional restaurant kitchen . We don't have tickets coming in or customers waiting on individual orders. Instead, our kitchen team works together to prepare meals in large batches—from chopping and prepping ingredients to cooking, portioning, packaging, labeling, and cleaning. We're looking for someone who enjoys staying busy, works well as part of a team, takes pride in doing things correctly, and understands that consistency is extremely important when you're producing hundreds of meals at a time. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients including washing, chopping, slicing, weighing, measuring, and portioning foods according to recipes Cook proteins, vegetables, grains, sauces, and other components in large batches using commercial kitchen equipment Follow Red Apron's recipes, preparation methods, portion sizes, and production standards consistently Accurately weigh and portion ingredients and finished foods for individual meal containers Assemble, package, seal, label, and organize prepared meals Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, braising pans, food processors, slicers, and other production equipment Follow all food safety, sanitation, temperature-control, and food-handling procedures Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the workday Wash dishes, cookware, equipment, and production utensils as needed Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, equipment, work surfaces, floors, and production areas Work efficiently with the team to complete daily production goals Perform other kitchen and production duties as assigned Qualifications Previous commercial kitchen, restaurant, catering, meal prep, or high-volume food production experience is preferred Must have or be able to obtain a Texas Food Handler's Certificate Comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment Able to follow recipes, measurements, portion sizes, and instructions accurately Basic knife skills and food preparation experience preferred Able to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment Strong attention to detail and consistency Dependable, punctual, and ready to work at the scheduled start time Able to work well with others and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented workplace Able to stand and work on your feet for the duration of the shift Able to bend, reach, lift, carry, and perform repetitive kitchen and food-production tasks throughout the day Able to lift up to 50 pounds Must have dependable transportation What It's Like to Work at Red Apron Our kitchen is busy, organized, and production-focused. Pay:
