Job Description
Willows Lodge is looking for an experienced and dependable Lead Steward to join our culinary team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can work in unison with the Chef team, anticipate operational needs, and keep the Stewarding team organized and moving throughout service.
The Lead Steward supports culinary operations across the property, including Barking Frog, Fireside Lounge, banquets, and special events. We re looking for a true servant-leader who takes care of the team, remains fully engaged in the work, and understands how to adjust staffing and priorities as service levels change.
What You ll DoLead the Stewarding team through daily operations while working alongside themPartner closely with the Chef team to monitor service levels, anticipate needs, and adjust staffing and prioritiesAssign work, provide direction, and ensure responsibilities are completed throughout the shiftMaintain clean, organized, and efficient dish and kitchen areasWash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipmentKeep dish machines clean, stocked, and operating properlyMaintain appropriate levels of soap, sanitizer, chemicals, and cleaning suppliesClean floors, mats, worktables, equipment, refrigeration areas, and other kitchen surfacesMaintain trash and recycling areas throughout the shiftMaintain the employee dining area and assist with employee meal setup and cleanupMove and organize supplies and equipment between storage and work areasIdentify operational concerns and communicate them promptly to the Chef teamTrain, support, and set clear expectations for Stewarding employeesPromote accountability, teamwork, and respectful communicationFollow and reinforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standardsWhat We re Looking ForPrevious Stewarding, dishwashing, culinary, hospitality, or similar high-volume experience requiredPrevious lead or supervisory experience preferredBilingual English/Spanish preferredA hands-on, servant-leadership approachStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse teamAbility to assess service levels, organize the team, and shift priorities quicklyStrong work ethic and attention to cleanliness and organizationComfortable providing direction while remaining fully operationalReliable and consistent attendanceAvailability to work weekends and holidays as scheduledAbility to stand and move throughout the shift and lift up to 50 poundsCurrent Washington State Food Worker Card, or ability to obtain oneMust be at least 18 years oldCompensation & Benefits401(k) with employer match after one year of eligible servicePTO accrual based on hours workedPSSL accrual based on state Complimentary employee meal during your shiftWorking at Willows LodgeOur Stewarding team supports the entire culinary operation at Willows Lodge.
