LIFEGUARD
Position Summary:
The Lifeguard is responsible for guarding their area of responsibility, responding to any level of incident around the entire facility, enforcing our rules fairly and politely, checking and maintaining pool chemicals, being responsive to member and guest requests, and other tasks assigned by the Director of Aquatics and Lead Aquatics Staff.
Lifeguard Areas of Responsibility :
  • Scan their area of responsibility every 10 seconds.
  • Respond to any and all illness and injury incidents around the entire facility, including performing First Aid, CPR, and other Lifeguarding skills.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly pool, deck, Aquatics Office, and Locker rooms.
  • Perform pool chemical checks at designated times.
  • Keep accurate records of pool usage, chemical levels, pool closures, etc.
  • Enforce pool rules and promote Aquatic Programming.
  • Attend all Mandatory Staff Meetings and Trainings.
  • Work together as a team with other Aquatics Staff and other departments.
  • Be the club "goodwill" ambassador and greet and assist members and guests.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, including abiding by uniform requirements and upholding our Customer Service expectations.
Qualifications and competencies:
  • Lifeguard certification
  • America Red Cross or equivalent
  • Communication skills, customer service oriented Lead Lifeguard
  • Including but not limited to:
  • Perform pump room checks and notify Aquatics Director of any issues.
  • Perform chemical checks as indicated.
  • Be a good role model for other guards
  • Be the primary contact for any member concerns, communicate concerns to your supervisor in case follow up is needed. Head Lifeguard
  • Including but not limited to: Assist management with administration needs not limited to: o Staff schedules o Schedule coverage o Clock in and out approvals o Summer camp swim coordination o Safety equipment checks and supplies
SWIM INSTRUCTOR
Position Summary:
The Swim Instructor is responsible for setting up and cleaning up their lesson station, maintaining communication and relationships with their clients or parents of their students, being patient and enthusiastic while teaching, and holding productive lessons. Swim Instructor Areas of Responsibility
  • Attend all Mandatory Staff Meetings and Trainings.
  • Hold productive and engaging 30 minute lessons.
  • Complete our Bubbles and Mastering Form Training and teach all group lessons based on this format.
  • Set up and clean up the lesson station.
  • Maintain open communication with the client and/or family of your client about the progression of the lessons and future goals.
  • While working as a Group Lesson Instructor following the Coordinator's and Aquatics Director's directions and requests.
  • Work together as a team with other Aquatics Staff and other departments.
  • Be the club "goodwill" ambassador and greet and assist members and guests.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, including abiding by uniform requirements and upholding our Customer Service expectations.
  • Communication skills, customer service oriented
  • Swimming experienced preferred
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard certification preferred but not necessary Working Conditions/Physical requirements for both:
  • Outdoor Environment with little temperature control
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 45 pounds
  • Swim 300 yards non-stop
  • Perform all skills required for Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR skills This position is contingent upon completion and clearance of a background fingerprint assessment.
