Job Description

Corral de Tierra Country Club is seeking a responsible and attentive Lifeguard to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our members and guests at the swimming pool. This role is responsible for enforcing pool rules, monitoring swimmer safety, and maintaining a clean and welcoming pool environment. Key Responsibilities Monitor swimmers at all times to ensure safety and prevent accidents Enforce all pool rules and regulations in a professional manner Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including administering first aid and CPR when needed Provide care for minor injuries such as cuts and bruises Perform daily pool maintenance duties including: Vacuuming pool bottom Emptying skimmers Removing debris from water surface Maintain cleanliness of pool deck, cabanas, locker rooms, restrooms, and showers Set up and store pool equipment including rescue tubes, ring buoys, and pool toys Assist with pool activities, games, clinics, and private swim lessons as directed Check and restock first aid supplies as needed Complete required records and attend scheduled meetings Report any safety concerns or member issues to the Swimming Pool Manager Perform opening and closing duties as assigned Qualifications Some high school education required Strong swimming ability, including lap swimming and diving to the bottom of the pool Knowledge of pool safety, rescue techniques, and surveillance methods Understanding of pool chemistry and risk management practices preferred Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations Certifications Required Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Current CPR/AED Certification American Red Cross First Aid Certification Knowledge of blood-borne pathogen safety procedures Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, crouch, and climb for extended periods Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Work performed in hot, humid, and wet conditions Exposure to chlorine and cleaning chemicals Ability to work in a busy, noisy environment
Pay:
$17.00 per hour
