Job Description

Full-Time Lifeguard The YMCA of Central KY is looking for dedicated and experienced full-time lifeguards to join our team across all branches. Do you love aquatics? Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00
PM Location:
C.M. Gatton Beaumont Family YMCA General Function The Full-Time Lifeguard provides complete oversight and a sense of control over the entire pool area, ensuring the safety of all members and guests. As the first source of emergency care in the event of an accident, you will maintain a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment. Time will also be spent performing routine maintenance duties as assigned by management. Job Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older .
Current and valid certifications in:
Lifeguard Certification First Aid Basic Life Support Oxygen Excellent swimming skills and a varied aquatic background.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safety & Prevention:
Prevent accidents both in the water and on the pool deck.
Emergency Response:
Provide immediate rescue and emergency assistance in the event of an accident.
Area Control:
Maintain control of the entire pool area at all times and enforce pool rules fairly and consistently.
Maintenance:
Perform daily and nightly maintenance duties, including picking up litter, washing the pool deck, surface skimming, and keeping the deck clear of obstructions.
Customer Service:
Act as a friendly first point of contact, answering general YMCA questions for members.
Professionalism:
Wear the required staff uniform and name tag while on duty, and keep a whistle on you at all times.
Reporting:
Complete accurate incident and accident reports for any issue, no matter how minor.
Teamwork & Training:
Attend all scheduled staff meetings and in-service training sessions set by the Aquatic Director.
