PM Qualifications & Requirements Age:
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Certifications:
Current and valid Lifeguard Certification, Basic Life Support, First Aid, and Oxygen certification.
Skills:
Excellent swimming proficiency and a diverse background in aquatic environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain active, alert scanning of the pool area to prevent water and deck accidents. Provide immediate rescue, first aid, and emergency assistance when necessary. Enforce pool rules consistently and handle disciplinary actions fairly. Secure the aquatic facility by locking all entry doors when the pool is unattended. Participate in all mandatory staff meetings and in-service training sessions. Perform routine maintenance including debris removal, nightly deck washing, and skimming. Keep pool decks, pathways, and emergency exits clear of all obstructions. Wear the required YMCA staff uniform, name tag, and whistle at all times while on duty. Deliver excellent customer service by answering general YMCA member questions warmly. Maintain personal accountability for scheduled shifts or secure qualified substitutes in advance. File detailed, accurate accident and incident reports immediately, regardless of severity.
