Job Description
Aquatic Academy is hiring dependable, safety-focused Certified Lifeguards for our Raytown aquatic facility. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for swimmers, families, and guests. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for actively monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety rules, responding quickly to emergencies, and helping maintain a clean and professional facility. Candidates should be alert, responsible, guest-service minded, and ready to act at any time to protect the safety and well-being of all patrons. Responsibilities Provide a safe, welcoming environment for all patrons. Actively supervise swimmers and non-swimmers during in-water and out-of-water activities. Continuously scan the pool area while on duty and remain focused while guarding. Enforce pool rules, regulations, and company policies in a professional and respectful manner. Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, hazards, injuries, or unsafe behavior. Remain ready and willing to enter the water at any time. Document incidents, injuries, and concerns through the company reporting system. Conduct pool inspections, complete water chemistry logs, and report imbalances or safety concerns to a supervisor. Assist with cleaning and maintaining the pool, pool deck, locker rooms, restrooms, and surrounding facility areas. Record daily participation numbers and complete assigned cleaning tasks. Respond to guest questions and provide information about pool operations. Attend scheduled in-service trainings to stay current on safety procedures, operational standards, and company guidelines. Maintain a professional appearance, including wearing the required uniform, swimsuit, guard shirt, whistle, and rescue tube. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required. (Willing to get certified) Strong communication and guest service skills. Ability to remain alert, focused, and professional while on duty. Ability to enforce rules respectfully and confidently. Ability to respond calmly and quickly in emergency situations. Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting as needed for equipment and safety measures. Dependable, responsible, and committed to maintaining a safe environment.
