Saturdays:
11:00 AM-9:00
PM Sundays:
11:00 AM-7:00 PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities Enforce rules and regulations. Maintain discipline within the pool area. Rescue swimmers in distress. Administer first and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Assist with general clean-up activities. Conduct chlorine / acid level tests. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and CPR certifications. Previous experience as a lifeguard is preferred but not required Strong swimming skills and ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Position Physical Requirements Must have the ability to: Read and write (English) Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers with or without the use of two-way radios. Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions Visually inspect all work areas, pools and grounds While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is exposed to the sun, occasionally required to swim, use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to swim. The employee must be physically able to perform all rescue skills, including backboard rescue and deep water lift. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Work hours will include days and evenings on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather and potentially dangerous chemicals on a daily basis. Machine/Equipment/Tools Used Water treatment systems, filter systems, flow meters and gauges, safety and rescue equipment, small hand tools for minor pool maintenance and plumbing repairs, personal computer including Microsoft software, cash register, calculator, copy and fax machine, phone, handicapped lift, water test kit mobile or portable radio.
