Full Job Description Schedule:
Full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Work will be performed during Kirtland Aquatic Center operating hours of 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Federal holidays are normally excluded unless otherwise requested.
Summary:
The Aquatics Manager will oversee daily pool operations and manage lifeguard personnel at the Kirtland Aquatic Center. The position is responsible for ensuring safe aquatic operations, maintaining required staffing levels, coordinating schedules, managing certifications, conducting operational checks, and serving as the primary point of contact for facility coordination. The Aquatics Manager will ensure compliance with safety procedures while supporting military physical training and aquatic readiness activities.
Requirements:
Previous aquatic management, lifeguarding, or pool operations experience. Current Lifeguarding/Water Rescue certification. Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications. Ability to communicate fluently in English. Strong leadership, organization, and staff coordination skills. Ability to maintain employee schedules and ensure required staffing coverage. Ability to successfully complete base access requirements, background investigation, and
DBIDS/CAC
processing. Ability to complete required safety, privacy, and facility training. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or equivalent aquatic management credential preferred. Must maintain professional conduct and reliable attendance.
Duties:
Manage daily aquatic operations and ensure continuous pool coverage. Schedule lifeguard personnel to maintain required staffing levels during all operational sessions. Serve as the primary contact for coordination with facility representatives. Maintain employee certification records and training documentation. Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed properly. Monitor compliance with pool safety procedures and operational requirements. Coordinate staff breaks while maintaining required lifeguard coverage. Maintain quality control documentation and operational records. Review and verify daily water quality, safety, and equipment inspection logs. Coordinate emergency response procedures and ensure proper reporting. Address operational issues and implement corrective actions when needed. Support a clean, safe, and properly maintained aquatic environment. 1smAt0nlkR
