Job Description

Position Title:
Aquatics Manager We are seeking qualified candidates to join our team in support of lifeguard and aquatic management services at the Kirtland Air Force Base 100-meter indoor swimming pool in Albuquerque, NM.
Work Schedule:
The Aquatics Manager position requires coverage during all pool operational hours (Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM, excluding federal holidays). Schedule flexibility is available, and coverage may be achieved through a team approach with alternates to ensure continuous on-site management. Candidates should be willing to work early mornings, afternoons, and occasional full-day shifts as part of a management team to provide full operational coverage.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pool operations, including staff scheduling, facility opening/closing, and key control. Supervise and support lifeguard team to ensure continuous coverage and compliance with Air Force and CDC safety standards. Maintain and update staff certification records, manage quality control documentation, and serve as the primary on-site liaison to the Government. Ensure daily inspection and documentation of safety equipment, water quality (testing only), and facility cleanliness. Respond to emergencies and enforce facility rules.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current and valid certifications from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., American Red Cross, Starguard Elite, Ellis & Associates) in Lifeguarding/Water Rescue, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Standard First Aid.
Demonstrated proficiency in swimming:
300-yard continuous swim, 2-minute water tread, and timed brick retrieval from 7 feet. Prior experience managing aquatic facilities or lifeguard teams preferred. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent credential highly desirable. Ability to pass a background check and obtain Kirtland AFB base access.
