Job Description
Overview It is the responsibility of the Lifeguard to properly supervise all swimming areas to ensure guest safety at all times. Lifeguards will be expected to maintain a professional attitude and assist guests with general questions regarding the pool and the Golden Nugget property. Lifeguards will additionally be expected to help maintain the general cleanliness of the Pool area and assist the Pool Operations team with day to day tasks. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company's brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. - Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity). Responsibilities Responsible for assisting with welcoming guests to the pool as well as monitoring guest items to ensure departmental policies and procedures are upheld. Must have an outgoing / can do attitude. Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout an 8-10 hour shift, while working in temps ranging from 40 - 120 degrees. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time while monitoring the pool deck ensuring guest conditions are desirable and safe. Must be able to problem solve while under pressure. Must be able to manage own time as well as others when placed in a leadership position. Must be punctual and maintain good standings with attendance within the operation. Must follow appearance policies of GNLV Standards. Must keep pool area clean of used towels and trash. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Obtain a valid Lifeguard CPR/AED Certification. Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills. Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results. High School Diploma or GED (or actively seeking). A minimum of 6 months customer service experience in hospitality (or equivalent) preferred. Minimum age requirement is 16. Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities. Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities. Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
