Job Description

Rocking Horse Ranch Resort, an award winning all inclusive resort in the Hudson Valley, is seeking a Director of Aquatics and Recreation. This individual is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our aquatics, recreation, and winter fun park operations. Duties include ensuring a safe and memorable guest experience, training and certifying our lifeguard team through the Starguard program, and supervising and training a team of up to 80 attendants. In addition to administrative responsibilities, this individual will be active throughout the day, managing all of the different areas described below: Responsibilities Hire, train and supervise all staff for our Big Splash Indoor Water Park, Mountain Tubing, Rockwall, Euro Bungee, Lake Front, Sports Shack, Laser Tag, and Winter Fun Park operations, including ski instruction, small lift operations, ice skating, snow tubing, and ski rentals Create and manage weekly team schedules (including in service trainings and lifeguard certifications) and approve weekly payroll Respond effectively to all first aid calls for guests and staff in accordance with Starguard first aid protocols and document incidents properly Address guest and staff complaints and resolve problems, maintaining positive guest relations Enforce all policies, rules and regulations for all guests and staff Oversee the daily completion of all required company (first aid, inventory, opening/closing, training) and state operating inspections and checklists Special projects or other related duties as assigned by management Qualifications 5+ years experience in an Aquatics, Recreation or Ski Operations leadership position Starguard instructor certification a plus (will train the right candidate), including first aid Valid driver's license Flexible work availability including weekends and holidays Ability to swim 200 yards, and perform work that may include lifting, loading/unloading guests, extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, or kneeling in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, or snow
