Job Overview The Splendid of Highland Assisted Living is seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to help maintain a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning community for our residents and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a practical "can-do" attitude . This position will perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot basic mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building issues, and respond to maintenance requests throughout the facility. We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently . Experience in building maintenance, assisted living, healthcare, apartment maintenance, or a related trade is preferred. Duties Perform routine and preventative maintenance throughout the assisted living facility. Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and building-related issues . Inspect and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, appliances, and equipment. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents. Identify maintenance concerns and determine when outside contractors or specialized services are required. Perform minor repairs, adjustments, installations, and general handyman work. Maintain safe, clean, and functional resident rooms, common areas, and staff areas. Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow removal, grounds upkeep, and other weather-related needs. Conduct routine safety checks and report potential hazards or needed repairs. Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and preventative maintenance activities. Monitor maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment and communicate when replacements or additional supplies are needed. Follow facility safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Work cooperatively with Nursing, Housekeeping, Administration, and other departments. Respond appropriately to urgent maintenance issues and facility emergencies. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in general maintenance, building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related trade preferred . Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and identify basic maintenance problems. Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs . Comfortable using common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Ability to read and follow basic instructions, maintenance manuals, and safety procedures. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to determine practical solutions. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and respond appropriately to urgent issues. Professional and respectful communication with residents, families, visitors, and staff. Ability to safely lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical maintenance tasks as required. Must maintain a safe work environment and follow all facility policies and procedures. Prior experience working in an assisted living, healthcare, apartment, hotel, or commercial facility is a plus. High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred. Relevant trade certification or training is a plus, but strong hands-on experience and mechanical aptitude are highly valued .

Pay:

$24.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week
