Prosperitus Solutions is seeking a dedicated individual to perform as a Recreational Therapist Assistant/Lifeguard at the Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, to support outpatient services related to the rehabilitation therapy specialty at the Center for the Intrepid, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. Qualifications Must have current certification to practice therapeutic recreation from one of the 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, or US Virgin Islands Must have Lifeguard Certification Must have Basic Swim Instructor OR Water Safety INstructor Certification from the American Red Cross Must have a valid Type A or Type C Driver's License Must have a Bachelor's degree for Therapeutic Recreation Must have a CTRS Certification from NCTRC Must have a current BLS Certification Minimum of two years' experience within the last three years in recreational therapy including aquatic therapy and as Lifeguard and basic swim instructor. (Volunteer service may count as experience if performed with a vlid 501c3 or other non-profit approved entity). Must have experience as a lifeguard Job Duties Resourcing, leading, and reporting on recreational activities specific to the needs of a patient/client/consumer population, for example: Classroom-based, outdoor environments, and aquatic (pool and open water) Teaching swimming to beginner non-swimmer adults who may have fear of water First-aid or rescue in emergency situations Planning, organizing, and independently conducting variety of physical fitness/recreational rehabilitation activities (e.g., aerobic, strength, physical conditioning, spin, Zumba, weight training, and aquatic exercise) Communicate tactfully with patients with varied situations and backgrounds We look forward to receiving your resume!
