The Orem Recreation Department is currently hiring for Head Lifeguards. This is a part-time, non-benefited position working under the direction of a Recreation Manager, Supervisor or Coordinator. This position is responsible for the supervision of aquatics facilities, aquatics staff, and aquatics operations (including lifeguard rotations, pool chemical testing, pool layout management, preventative safety measures, shift reports, incident reports, and physical building security) at the Orem Family Fitness Center or Scera Park Pools during a scheduled shift, oftentimes in the absence of the Manager, Supervisor, or Coordinator. Head Lifeguards will train and supervise all lifeguard staff on shift. This position works closely with the Desk Shift Supervisor on duty & lead program instructors to maintain cohesion between both sides of operations and staff. Must have American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and First Aid certifications.
Requires knowledge of aquatic facility usage, including rules, policies, and procedures.
Requires one year lifeguard experience.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Pay and Benefits
Starts at $15.00 per hour depending on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities
Schedule
Up to 28 hours per week, including Saturdays and holidays, at either the Orem Family Fitness Center or the Scera Park Pools (if applicable). Shift schedules available are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 4:45-11am and11am-5pm. General closings 5pm-10:30pm.
