Job Description

The Club at Glenmore, a private club located in Keswick, VA, approximately five miles east of Charlottesville on rt. 250, is currently seeking a Lifeguard for the remainder of the fall season. Our aquatics facilities consist of three pools (family, adult and toddler) and the largest one (the family pool) is heated so our season is extended early in the spring and late in the fall, as much as weather allows. If you're a good fit this fall, we'd be delighted to have you back for the full season next year. For the remainder of this season, our pool hours are Saturday and Sunday, noon to 4pm, so this position would be somewhere between 5 and 10 hours per week. The main goal of our lifeguards is to create a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. Duties are typical for a lifeguarding position: Monitor and supervise aquatic activities. Ensure that all present adhere to the rules to prevent injuries and accidents. Respond to any emergencies calmly and professionally. Proactively identify any safety issues. Open and close the pool when needed, depending on schedule and hours. Monitor weather reports to ensure safety of guests and quickly clear the pool if needed. Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool. Provide general assistance to patrons and other staff when appropriate or necessary. Check in all members and guests and record member information.
Certifications:
Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration. Current Lifeguard certification or equivalent. Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness. Compensation starts at $14.50 per hour and goes up depending on experience. Staff meals are included with the position.
