Job Description

Job Title:
Tool Room Attendant Job Description A tool room attendant is responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining the inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies. This role requires knowledge of tools and consumables and the ability to issue and receive tools efficiently. The attendant must ensure the functionality of all production tools in accordance with production needs and operate the tool crib in alignment with the production schedule at all times. Responsibilities Issue production tools and equipment to employees while maintaining records of use. Monitor the tool crib inventory and perform routine inspections. Inspect, repair, and maintain tools and equipment. Maintain the tool room in a clean and orderly condition and return tools and equipment to their proper places. Check tools in and out for use and perform preventive maintenance. Create and update Tool Control Cards, including tool history and calibration. Write, track, and file Lost Tool Notices. Assist Engineering with continuous improvement projects. Conduct inventory of production tools, receive new tools, and perform incoming inspections. Track calibration and periodic inspection due dates and handle calibrated tools. File calibration certifications and maintain data files. Send out and track hydraulic samples and file the results. Essential Skills Knowledge of inventory management and toolroom operations. Competency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to work independently without supervision. Capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Attention to detail and good communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience or sufficient training equivalent to demonstrate performance of essential duties. Interpersonal skills with good judgment, patience, and courtesy. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment includes a tool room and shop subject to lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, equipment noise, and fumes. Employees are required to wear steel-toed shoes and long pants from day one; shorts are not allowed. The shop operates from 6 AM to 3:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime, necessitating willingness to work 10-hour days. Note that the shop does not have air conditioning. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
