Qualifications:
High School graduate or its equivalent required. Must be able to communicate, follow oral and written instructions in English. Must possess a Valid California Driver's license with a Clean DMV record. Hospital cleaning experience preferred but not required. Skills in operating floor machines, carpet cleaners, wet/dry vacuums preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Summary The Environmentalist is in charge of maintaining a clean and satisfying environment for both patients and employees. Duties Clean and service hospital buildings and outside account areas as assigned Sweep, dust, dust mop and wet mop floors Restore or maintenance of floors as assigned Vacuum, spot clean or restore carpeted areas as assigned, including carpeted runners and mats Clean, sanitize and make beds, cribs and gurneys as assigned Collect refuse and soiled linens from work areas and dispose of same following hospital procedures Clean, sanitize and polish bathtubs, lavatories, showers, plumbing fixtures and ceramic tiles Fill dispensers as necessary Dust, clean and sanitize furniture Clean and polish glass surfaces, woodwork and window seals Clean walls and ceilings Clean isolations areas following hospital procedures for infection control Terminally clean labor rooms, delivery rooms, nurseries and operating room as assigned Remove clean and replace window coverings and wall hangings Delivers clean linens to assigned areas following departmental procedures Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition Reports all needed repairs to the maintenance department using the appropriate work order form Inventory janitorial supplies and replenish as needed from the main storage area Performs other related duties as requested Lifting requirements: Heavy; generally lifting objects not more than 100 lbs. (with help) and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
