Job Description
Position Summary The Maintenance Hourly/Houseperson is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems, and assumes the operating aspects of the hotel for the Engineering department. This is a hands-on technical role that keeps the property safe, compliant, and running smoothly behind the scenes. The ideal Maintenance Hourly/Houseperson is a proactive problem-solver with broad working knowledge across trades, communicates clearly with guests and team members, and is comfortable making independent decisions under pressure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following is a representative list of duties and is not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned. Guest Service and Property Standards Deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service. Review all Guest and Meeting Planner comment cards to ensure that problems are identified and corrected in a timely manner. Maintenance and Repairs Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain the property, equipment, grounds, and other assets in a safe and acceptable state of repair. Conduct site inspections. Perform preventive maintenance and assist in scheduling preventive maintenance tasks. Respond to customer care calls regarding non-functioning equipment immediately. Repair and program the hotel's electronic lock system. Safety, Compliance, and Life Safety Ensure that the hotel is in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws. Ensure that all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested, and certified per hotel standards. Actively participate in energy conservation programs per PAH's standards. Administration and Special Projects Assist with the administration of all vendor contracts controlled by the Engineering Department per hotel standards. Assist as necessary with special projects and renovations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
