Duties Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and other designated spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies. Handle laundry tasks including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms in accordance with safety protocols. Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Use chemical agents safely and effectively for cleaning and sanitation purposes, adhering to proper handling procedures for chemical agents. Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy loads of linens or cleaning equipment while practicing safe lifting techniques. Maintain cleanliness standards by performing floor care including sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors as needed. Ensure all sanitation procedures are followed meticulously to prevent healthcare-associated infections and promote infection prevention and control practices. Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, steam cleaners, and other janitorial tools efficiently. Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to chemical handling, environmental services standards, and healthcare facility housekeeping regulations. Assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies and laundry materials to ensure availability while minimizing waste. Experience Previous experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping or commercial cleaning is highly preferred. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to cleaning chemicals and manual handling practices. Experience with laundry operations including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of linens or uniforms. Knowledge of infection prevention protocols specific to healthcare or hospital environments is advantageous. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff members and visitors. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures while maintaining high standards of sanitation.
