Job Description
Overall Summary The Housekeeper is responsible for performing housekeeping functions in order to create a safe, secure, and inviting environment for residents, families and team members while meeting and exceeding Prairieview Lutheran Homes service standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Demonstrates knowledge of department policies and procedures Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools Perform all cleaning, floor care and project assignments within the area of responsibility or as directed by a supervisor Perform related services, such as bed moves, changing mattresses, stocking supplies, etc. Maintains high standards and works steadily at an efficient pace Interacts friendly and supportively with staff, patients, visitors and coworkers Maintains equipment, tools and storage areas in a clean, orderly and good operating condition Respects all property of Prairieview Lutheran Homes Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special needs, spills, etc. Accepts suggestions and direction from supervisors and staff Honors department's attendance, break, behavior, dress and safety codes. Accepts and absorbs department education programs Exercises good judgment while working around patients and visitors Always maintains a professional mannerism Takes initiative in rendering service or responding to needs Reports any safety issues for repairs Responds to direction as provided by director Assists other associates as necessary In the event of a pandemic or emergency situation, your job duties may adjust to serve in the role of frontline staff to ensure all resident needs are met All other duties as assigned Competencies Communication Dependability Ethical Practice Critical Evaluation Detail Oriented Time management Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to handle multiple priorities Ability to perform tasks with frequent interruptions Demonstrates good judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills Physically fit to left heavy objects Benefits Medical Dental / Vision Group Life / Voluntary Life
