Job Details Description Location/Department:
Hospital - Environmental Services $1,000 Sign-On Bonus!! 60/pp - 2nd shift 3p-11p includes every other weekend and call rotation
Job Summary:
Performs assigned tasks to provide a clean, safe, sanitary environment for the staff and those being treated and cared for at MMH properties.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Cleans occupied patient rooms by using products that clean & disinfect surfaces according to established procedure & manufacturer spec. Cleans unoccupied patient rooms - in addition to the above, disinfects beds horizontally & vertically. Cleans ECG leads, blood pressure cuffs, IV pole, disinfects commode chairs, high/low dust area. Cleans & disinfects restrooms & fixtures. Cleans nonpatient areas such as offices, corridors, lobbies, meeting rooms, elevators & waiting rooms. Dry & wet mop floors. Spot cleans walls, doors, ceiling, vents, & light fixtures. Keeps trash cans in assigned areas pulled. Takes trash to compactor, properly disposes of red bag waste. Maintains paper towels & toilet tissue in assigned area. Demonstrates that safety ladder is used properly. Changes needle boxes when level is ¾ full or as requested. All cleaning bottles are shown to be pre-labeled properly for housekeeping carts. Attends one in-service a year on the use of the trash compactor. Follows universal protection requirements when cleaning. When mopping corridors, wet floor signs are placed every 8 feet. Reports maintenance problems & safety hazards to the manager Drapes & cubicle drapery are mounted properly on tracks to pull freely & removed for cleaning. Cleans interior & exterior windows as assigned. Cleans stairwells in assigned area. Cleans & vacuums furniture in assigned area. Has shown to be effective in maintaining department equipment & storage areas. Has demonstrated the proper handling of biohazard & infectious waste. Performs room checks after discharge cleaning is completed & corrects any finds Assists with use of germinator for isolation rooms & other areas requiring germination Follows checklists & completes work timely. Performs detailed cleaning as scheduled.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong customer service skills Effectively communicates both verbal and written Ability to use basic office equipment
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent No experience required
Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, & use of hands May need to lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
