Job Description
Job Summary Care Partners will provide assistance in the homes of the older adults they are matched with. Hours worked by the Care Partner will be arranged to fit the needs of the client but with consideration of the Care Partners availability. Travel is required and travel time and mileage is paid between. About Us Neighbors in Action (a partner of the La Crescent Healthy Community Partnership) is a non-profit program that helps older individuals residing in Houston County, MN live independently by providing assistance with basic homemaking tasks and companionship. We are seeking individuals for flexible positions for our Care Partner service. Responsibilities and Duties Care Partners are matched with individuals and will offer homemaking services such as cleaning, help with meal planning and preparation, medication or bathing reminders, help with errands/rides and especially that extra piece of mind to ensure the individual is safe. At the heart of the service is developing a relationship with the person served so they maintain dignity and independence. We do not administer medication or provide baths or other hands-on care as our licensing prohibits this. Qualifications and Skills The ability to cheerfully provide the required care and be tolerant of the individual's physical and mental abilities A genuine interest in older adults and a willingness to provide meaningful care that improves their quality of life Must be at least 18 years of age Must have a phone and be able to communicate to the office daily Must be able to arrive at the required time Preferred high school diploma or equivalency Benefits This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience working with older individuals.
