A Maid or Housekeeping Staff provides cleaning and housekeeping services, primarily for rooms and bathrooms in hotels and hospitals. May also work in private residences, office buildings, colleges, other institutions.

Rate:
$18 p/h
Responsibilities:
The essential functions of the job include but are not limited to: Ensure the efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of the overall property, both interior and exterior. Follow any and all housekeeping SOPs. Ensure that senior management are kept abreast of any important information. Relay any guest complaints to the General Manager if necessary. Arrive to work promptly and on time, ready for work. Endeavor to be conscious of safety and security at all times. Be friendly and courteous to guests at all times. Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors. Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors. Ensure that the public areas are being immaculately maintained at all times. Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells, vending areas, and foyers. Remove trash Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor. Ensure that the public bathrooms are well stocked, checking the supply stock every hour. Ensure that stock levels of housekeeping supplies (cleaning supplies, linens, cleaning equipment, etc) are property maintained. Ensure that the laundry is being run efficiently and assist with laundry removal. Assist with maintenance duties when required. Ensure that guestrooms are timely and thoroughly cleaned for guest's arrival. Ensure that rooms and their contents are properly maintained at all times, reporting any and all maintenance issues to the General Manager. Replenish any used supplies in the guestrooms. Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods of time. Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor.
