Duties Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, hallways, and other designated spaces using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment. Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens, clothing, and resident personal items with care to prevent damage or contamination. Follow strict safety protocols when handling chemical agents used for cleaning and sanitation to ensure a safe environment for staff and residents. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Maintain proper documentation of cleaning schedules, laundry logs, and chemical usage in compliance with healthcare infection prevention protocols. Ensure all sanitation practices meet OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and healthcare facility housekeeping regulations. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move supplies or equipment without injury. Support infection control measures by maintaining cleanliness in accordance with healthcare environment standards. Experience Previous janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare facilities or hospitals is highly preferred. Familiarity with commercial cleaning techniques and environmental services best practices. Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines related to chemical handling, manual handling, and workplace safety is essential. Experience operating cleaning machinery such as floor buffers or steam cleaners is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed sanitation procedures and safety protocols consistently.
