Duties Perform comprehensive floor cleaning tasks including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, refinishing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces. Handle various cleaning chemicals and floor cleaning agents safely, following all safety protocols and manufacturer instructions. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, extractors, and other custodial tools efficiently. Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of equipment or supplies to ensure thorough cleaning coverage. Maintain cleanliness of all designated areas by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and detailed sanitation of floors and surrounding surfaces. Assist with environmental services duties by ensuring all floors are free of hazards, spills are promptly cleaned, and safety standards are upheld. Support the overall appearance of the facility by performing janitorial duties with attention to detail and customer service excellence. Experience Prior experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services within healthcare or long-term care environments is highly preferred. Proven skills in floor care techniques such as scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and refinishing using appropriate cleaning equipment. Knowledge of handling chemical agents safely and effectively during various cleaning procedures. Experience with carpet cleaning machines and environmental services practices is advantageous. Strong physical stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Familiarity with janitorial processes, safety protocols, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in healthcare settings.
