Full-time position available:
Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, Sun 9am-1pm
POSITION SUMMARY
This position must provide clean, sanitary comfortable, orderly and satisfying surroundings for the patients, employees and visitors. The housekeeper promotes sanitary conditions which prevent the spread of infection and odors. She/he may be required to perform tasks, which involve exposure to visible blood or other bodily fluids. The housekeeper must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and/or the clean up of blood, infectious materials or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Program or the facility program for blood borne pathogens.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or equivalent education is preferred. Preference is given to persons with experience in working in a health care setting. Minimum one (1) year experience in housekeeping services required. Verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, patients, family members and the public. Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions. Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation. Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, patients and others.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Responsible for daily cleaning of the facility as instructed, including, but not limited to: vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing of fixtures and cleaning bathrooms. Prepares rooms for incoming admissions and discharging patients by ensuring that room is clean and bed linens and towels are clean. Dusts furniture, light fixtures, window sills, etc. Empty trash containers daily. Wet mop floors in all patients bathrooms on a regular basis. Mops all floors, lobby, dining areas, nurse's station and other areas as required. Report any needed repairs immediately to manager (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken windows/missing screens, beds needing repair, etc.) Check all vacant rooms to keep fresh. Participate in department meetings, in-services, morning bell and community meetings. Check cleaning cart daily to determine inventory of supplies. Check linen supply daily to determine inventory of supplies. Completes other tasks as assigned by manager. Follows instructions on use of germicidal solutions to clean. Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services. Deep cleaning as assigned by manager.
