We are seeking a dedicated Hospital Housekeeper to join our healthcare facility's environmental services team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital to support patient care, staff efficiency, and infection control standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong custodial experience, familiarity with hospital sanitation protocols, and a commitment to high-quality cleaning practices. This position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to patient safety and overall hospital operations through diligent cleaning and sanitation efforts.Responsibilities:
Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, operating rooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas in accordance with hospital standards and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations. Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure floors, surfaces, and medical equipment are sanitized effectively. Follow established protocols for waste disposal, including hazardous waste handling and biohazard material management. Conduct routine floor care procedures such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain a safe environment. Maintain detailed documentation of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly. Adhere to infection control policies by following proper sanitation procedures for all areas within the hospital. Collaborate with environmental services team members to ensure consistent quality standards across all hospital zones. Comply with OSHA guidelines related to chemical handling, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe work practices. Support special cleaning projects or emergency response efforts as needed to uphold hospital cleanliness standards.Qualifications:
Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred. Experience with commercial cleaning equipment and floor care techniques. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration with staff members. This role is essential in ensuring that our healthcare environment remains safe, clean, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and staff alike.Pay:
