Full Job Description Description:
Four Star Seafood is a leading provider of fresh, high-quality seafood to restaurants, chefs, and consumers in the Los Angeles Area. Our Fish Cutters are familiar with fillet techniques for various species of seafood, prepare fish according to customer specifications, maintain high standards of safety and sanitation, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our company operations. Responsibilities:
Remove scales from fish, trim, fillet, and clean seafood products. Perform fish cutting and trimming tasks with precision using appropriate knives and tools. Weigh, wrap, and pack fish products to meet orders and inventory standards. Ensure all fish products are prepared according to according to federal, state, local regulations and company policy. Package fish products and ensure proper labeling and storage. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the preparation area, adhering to hygiene protocols. Collaborate with staff to meet production needs and maintain inventory levels. Monitor the quality of fish products, identifying any issues that require attention. Assist in training new staff members on proper meat cutting techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements:
Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in fish cutting, meat cutting, or food preparation. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques. Familiarity with various types of fish, meats, and their specific handling requirements. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using kitchen equipment related to meat processing. A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in food production. Ability to frequently stand and walk for an eight-hour shift. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination. Basic math skills are essential. Able to work independently as well as in a team. Authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs. onto waist-high shelves. Frequent bending at waist/knees. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers. Exposure to a multi-temp, food production environment. Required to work in refrigerated and frozen environments, near noisy machinery, and confined spaces as part of daily production activities. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Work Hours and Availability:
Four Star Seafood is hiring two (2) full-time positions based out of the Monterey Park location: Approximate shift times are: 12:00am
  • 8:30am 4:00am
  • 12:30pm Some flexibility is required.
Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay scale for this position is $20.00
  • $26.
50 per hour . Employee benefits are available for all qualifying full-time employees, including paid time off, medical, vision, and dental insurance.
