Job Description

The Production Lead is responsible for supporting the Production Manager in the execution of daily post-harvest and packaging operations and assisting with the coordination of Post-Harvest Technicians. This position serves as a working lead, providing guidance, training, and support to staff while actively participating in daily production activities. The Production Lead helps ensure trimming, processing, packaging, and finished goods production are completed safely, efficiently, and according to Brix Cannabis standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Team Support & Leadership Assist the Production Manager in directing daily post-harvest and packaging activities. Provide guidance and support to Post-Harvest Technicians throughout assigned shifts. Assist with training employees on post-harvest procedures, packaging processes, SOPs, equipment operation, quality standards, sanitation, and safety requirements. Monitor task completion, workflow, productivity, and product quality and communicate concerns to the Production Manager. Help ensure daily production priorities and assigned tasks are completed according to schedule. Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, productivity, and adherence to company policies. Post-Harvest Operations Perform and assist with post-harvest activities including dry-room processing, destemming, trimming, sorting, curing, and product preparation. Assist with pulling down dried flower and preparing cannabis material for further processing and packaging. Ensure trimming, sorting, and processed flower meet established Brix Cannabis quality standards. Monitor product handling to help maintain quality and minimize product loss or waste. Support harvest activities and other production or cultivation functions as operational needs require. Packaging & Finished Goods Perform and assist with packaging of dried flower, pre-packaged flower, pre-rolls, and other finished cannabis products. Assist in coordinating daily packaging activities and production priorities. Ensure finished products meet established weight, quality, labeling, packaging, and presentation standards. Monitor packaging materials and communicate shortages or supply needs to the Production Manager. Help ensure packaging equipment is operated correctly and according to established SOPs. Assist with pre-roll production, filling, finishing, labeling, and final product preparation. Identify and report packaging errors, product quality issues, equipment problems, or workflow delays. Help maintain an organized and efficient packaging workflow. Inventory, Compliance & Quality Assist in maintaining accurate product, batch, production, packaging, and inventory records. Ensure cannabis material and finished products are properly identified, labeled, handled, and tracked according to company procedures and state regulations. Identify and report product quality concerns, inventory discrepancies, or procedural issues to the Production Manager. Follow and promote sanitation, contamination-prevention, and biosecurity procedures. Support audits, inspections, inventory counts, and compliance initiatives as required. Equipment, Sanitation & Safety Operate post-harvest and packaging equipment according to established procedures. Assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of trimming, packaging, and production equipment. Ensure post-harvest rooms, packaging areas, equipment, tools, and workspaces remain clean and organized. Follow and promote PPE requirements and workplace safety procedures. Identify and report equipment issues, safety concerns, or unsafe conditions to the Production Manager or management. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience in cannabis post-harvest, manufacturing, packaging, agriculture, or a related production environment preferred. Knowledge of cannabis post-harvest processes including drying, curing, trimming, sorting, packaging, and pre-roll production preferred. Previous lead or training experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and consistency. Ability to train, guide, and support employees while actively participating in production work. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Strong adherence to SOPs, safety requirements, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age. Must pass all state-required background checks. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive production tasks. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
