Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The role of the dryer operator will be to ensure efficient and safe operation of the daily activities in the dryer plant. In overall duties, he or she will advise the entire staff in all phases or activities within the plant. This position will also ensure all finished product is processed to the strictest quality control standards. Finally, the dryer operator will perform daily task of bringing the dryer down, doing the clean-up, bringing up the dryer, ensuring daily paperwork is recorded properly and accurately and preparing for future dryer operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervise the entire processing - including machine processing and employees.

Direct and advise the crew on all phases of dryer operations.

Insure compliance with all company and USDA policies and procedures for dried product.

Misc. organizing and housekeeping as necessary - the manager may direct these duties upon trusted employees.

Assist in machine repair, clearing jams, cleaning and sanitizing pumps, machines and related equipment.

Assist with the relief of any personnel in the drying operation.

Must ensure that all material handling equipment is handled safely and efficiently.

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, turn and perform other physical actions for extended periods of time and on a regular basis.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Must be reliable and extremely punctual.

High school diploma or equivalent is desired.

Must be capable of performing routine math calculations, including percentages and fractions.

Must be computer literate.

Must possess good communication skills - both written and verbal.

Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job on a routine basis.

Must be capable of quickly addressing issues and responding to emergency situations in a timely and consistent manner.

Must be able to lift at least 45 lbs.

Capable of working late (if needed) past the scheduled leave time to complete the job.

Capable of working weekend shifts and maintaining a flexible schedule (

This may include working holidays to ensure that the job is covered.)Possess excellent teamwork skills - as with many jobs this position requires a "team" attitude, and requires that all plant personnel work together to ensure that the job is completed.

Must be able to work in a completely smoke free environment.

Must have good vision and proper eyeglasses.

Must be conform and abide by ALL Rose Acre bio-security policies, and must report any violation of this policy to upper management immediately. Must conform to and abide by All Rose Acre Good Manufacturing Procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.

Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.

Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.

Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
