In this role, you will be responsible for preparing fresh fish and seafood products with precision and care, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional seafood offerings to our customers in retail or food service environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts, food handling, and maintaining strict food safety protocols. Duties Skillfully cut, trim, and portion fish and seafood items using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to meet quality standards. Operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently for filleting, deboning, and skinning fish. Perform visual inspections to ensure freshness, quality, and adherence to food safety regulations. Package seafood products accurately for retail display or customer orders while maintaining proper perishable goods management. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures rigorously to prevent contamination and ensure a clean work environment. Assist with food preparation tasks in a kitchen or retail setting, including trimming, slicing, and portioning seafood items. Support customer service efforts by providing knowledgeable assistance regarding seafood products and handling special requests. Skills Strong knowledge of food industry standards related to fish handling, meat cutting, and food safety management. Proficiency in using food production equipment such as meat processing machines and knives with basic knife skills. Experience in retail store environments or food service establishments is highly desirable. Ability to perform visual inspections for quality control and identify perishable goods that meet safety standards. Excellent understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures and hygiene practices in handling perishable items. Basic math skills for measuring portions, weights, and quantities accurately during packaging. Demonstrated experience in culinary or kitchen environments with a focus on fish handling or butchery techniques. Customer service skills to assist clients with product selection or special requests confidently.
