We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Production Coffee Roaster to join our production team and help us maintain the highest standards for our wholesale partners and cafe customers. Position Overview This is a full-time, hands-on production role perfect for someone who loves the science, craft, and physical workflow of coffee. You will be responsible for executing the daily roasting schedule, maintaining profile consistency, and ensuring the roastery operates efficiently. This position offers a stable, predictable Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule with no weekend shifts.
Core Responsibilities Roast Operations:
Operate commercial roasting equipment to execute daily production schedules according to established profile standards.
Quality Control & Cupping:
Monitor roast profiles, log batch data, and participate in regular QC cuppings to ensure flavor profile consistency and eliminate defects.
Green Coffee Management:
Safely handle, weigh, and stage green coffee inventory; track green coffee stock and assist with receiving shipments.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on the roasters, destoners, and grinders to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Packaging & Fulfillment:
Assist the production team with bagging, labeling, boxing, and staging roasted coffee for wholesale and retail fulfillment as needed.
Safety & Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production facility in compliance with food safety guidelines. Qualifications Previous experience in commercial coffee roasting is highly preferred, but individuals with a strong background in production, brewing, food manufacturing, or specialty coffee operations are encouraged to apply. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to strictly follow precise profile data and recipes. Strong sensory skills (taste and smell) with an interest in developing advanced coffee cupping abilities. Physical capability to stand for long periods and safely lift green coffee bags (up to 50-60 lbs regularly). Reliable, punctual, and thrives in a structured, schedule-driven production environment. Compensation & Benefits Stable $20.00 per hour training wage Automatic bump to $22.50 per hour upon successful completion of a 60-day probationary review. Guaranteed 40 hours per week with a highly desirable schedule (No nights, no weekends).
