Job Description
Position Overview The Bar Prep team member is responsible for supporting all beverage programs across the property by ensuring bars and beverage outlets are fully prepared, organized, and properly stocked for daily operations. This role focuses on the preparation of garnishes, batches, syrups, and other beverage components while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, cleanliness, and organization. The Bar Prep team member will also assist with receiving and organizing beverage and food product deliveries, ensuring products are handled, stored, and distributed appropriately. This position works closely with the Food & Beverage team to ensure all beverage operations are set up for seamless service. Essential Responsibilities Prepare all components required for the property's beverage programs, including garnishes, batches, syrups, juices, and other beverage preparations. Follow established recipes, preparation methods, portion standards, and quality guidelines to ensure consistency across all beverage outlets. Maintain organized, properly labeled, and well-stocked prep and storage areas. Monitor inventory levels of bar prep items and communicate replenishment needs to leadership. Assist with receiving deliveries, including checking products for accuracy, quality, quantity, and condition. Properly store and organize incoming product according to established food safety and storage standards. Rotate products using appropriate FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures and monitor expiration dates. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all prep areas, equipment, and storage spaces. Ensure all preparation and storage practices comply with applicable food safety and sanitation standards. Assist beverage outlets with additional preparation and operational needs as directed by leadership. Work collaboratively with bartenders, servers, culinary, stewarding, receiving, and other Food & Beverage team members. Communicate product shortages, quality concerns, equipment issues, or other operational needs promptly to leadership. Support special events, activations, and changing beverage programs as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Food & Beverage leadership. Qualifications Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, hotel, culinary, or food preparation environment preferred. Knowledge of beverage preparation, ingredients, and basic bar operations preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and established procedures. Excellent organization and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment and manage multiple priorities. Ability to safely lift, carry, and move product and supplies as required. Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, based on business needs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry cases, boxes, kegs, and other supplies as required up to 25 lbs. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and maneuver throughout prep, storage, and service areas. Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including refrigerated storage and active kitchen/bar areas. Please note that this role is tip exempt
